With California hospitals nearing capacity for COVID-19 patients, the Sleep Train Arena will open its doors as a field hospital once again. Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the site will be opening on December 9th and can take over 224 patients. Cal OES spokesperson Bryan May said patients who will be seen at the arena will be admitted and transported from outside health care facilities.
