FRESNO, Calif. - With Wild Card weekend approaching, eight former Bulldogs see their season continue into the playoffs, including seven on an active roster and one on injured reserve. The Bulldogs also have three additional familiar faces on three coaching staffs throughout the playoff eligible teams.
Fresno State has players on active rosters for both teams with a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Out of the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs added wide receiver Nikko Remigio (2022) to the active roster in early December. He has spent most of his time as a return specialist for the Chiefs, but saw offensive action in Week 18. He has 11 punt returns for 104 yards and 11 kickoff returns for 295 yards in five games this season. He also added two receptions for 48 yards. Remigio is in his second season with the Chiefs, spending the 2023 season on the injured reserve.
From the NFC, the Detroit Lions signed defensive back Morice Norris Jr. (2021-23) to the active roster on December 28. He has not appeared in a game in his rookie season with the Lions. Norris Jr., a Valley native, signed as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Offensive lineman Netane Muti (2016-19) spent the 2024 season on the Lions' injured reserve.
Sunday, January 12 - Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills 11 a.m. PT (CBS)
Levelle Bailey (2019-23), in his rookie season with the Broncos, signed as an undrafted free agent. He was signed to the active roster in October but has been marked as inactive for most weeks.
The Broncos' defensive line coach Jamar Cain spent the 2017-18 seasons at Fresno State as the defensive line coach. Cain was a part of a staff that helped compile a 22-6 record, two bowl wins and a Mountain West title (2018). Behind Cain's leadership, the Broncos lead the league in sacks.
Former Bulldog running back Kelly Skipper (1985-88) is in his eighth season with the Buffalo Bills. Over his first seven seasons as the running backs coach for Buffalo, Skipper has led the Bills unit to 126.6 rushing yards per game, which is the sixth highest average in the NFL. The Bills were the 2024 AFC East Champion.
Sunday, January 12 - Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles 1:30 p.m. PT (FOX)
Former Bulldogs Arron Mosby and Evan Williams team up on the Packers defense heading into playoffs. Mosby (2017-21) is in his second year with the Packers, and second postseason appearance. This season, he has appeared in 16 games with 12 tackles, two pass breakups and half a sack.
Williams, a Bulldog safety from 2019-22, is in his rookie season with the Packers having been drafted in the fourth round of the 2024 draft. He finished his collegiate career at Oregon (2023). The young defensive back has had an exciting first season in the NFL. Appearing in 13 games, he has totaled 49 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and three pass breakups. Williams hasn't appeared in a game since Week 15 with a quad injury, but is expected to return for the playoffs.
Also with the Packers, former Fresno State defensive lineman Todd Hunt (2011-15) is on staff as a strength and conditioning assistant.
Sunday, January 12 - Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5:15 p.m. PT (NBC/Peacock)
Mykal Walker, a Bulldog linebacker from 2017-19, enters the postseason with the Commanders. He's appeared in 17 games with 21 tackles and a fumble recovery in his first season with the organization. He looks toward his second straight postseason appearance, having been with the Pittsburgh Steelers for their run last season.
Monday, January 13 - Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams 5:15 p.m. PT (ESPN/ABC)
Ronnie Rivers (2017-21) heads back to the playoffs with the Rams. In 17 games played this season, he has 22 carries for 99 yards and five receptions for 34 yards. Rivers and the Rams were the NFC West champions.
