Kalmar breaks program record in final day of Trailblazer Invite

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Fresno State swim team concludes the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invite finishing in third place with 590.5 points after three days of competition at the HPC Pool. Divers completed the NAU Lumberjack Invite as a team finishing in 7th place with 30 points at Wall Aquatics Center.

Aliz Kalmar ended the invite on a high note, taking down another program record. Kalmar broke the 200 breaststroke program record with a time of 2:10.79, breaking previous record holder Manuela Mendolicchios' 2:11.21 from 2017-18. Kalmar gave the Bulldogs their third event win of the meet.

How it happened

In Flagstaff, Grace Ally made another appearance in the 1-meter springboard final. Ally takes 10th in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 250.80. Parker Connor and Averee Estep fall out of finals contention and finish the event in 23rd (215.80) and 34th (158.75), respectively

In St. George, the Bulldogs had an exciting finals session on Saturday night. Aliz Kalmar and Jenna Pulkkinen went 1-2 in the 200 breaststroke. Kalmar tagged on a new program record time of 2:10.79 in addition to the event win. Pulkkinen pulled in for second place with a time of 2:13.78.

Ryley Clark took a spot on the podium in the 200 backstroke, good for third with a time of 1:58.87. Sienna Cheng-Lucey was the top Dog in the consolation final taking ninth overall (2:00.10).

Korrie Tengan and Sera Hanagan go eighth and ninth in the 200 butterfly. Riley Baldwin and Laura Kalmar made the top ten in the 1650 freestyle with 6th (17:24.40) and 10th (17:35.23), respectively.
