Fresno State returns home to host Georgia

Fresno State returns home after falling 12-8 at Baylor on Nov. 1

Baylor wasn't ranked in the last meet, and with the loss, Fresno State saw itself drop one spot in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association dual discipline team rankings to No. 7.

The Bulldogs will face their third ranked opponent of the season this week.

Fresno State is 1-1 against its ranked opponents, falling to then-No. 3 TCU on Oct. 18.

Fresno State looks for its first home win of the year.

About the series

Fresno State and Georgia will meet for the first time since 2021 this week.

Fresno State has never won a meet in the series with Georgia.

In the last meeting in Fresno between the teams, Fresno State narrowly fell 10-9 to Georgia on Nov. 9, 2019.

The last three home meets in the series with Georgia have been decided by three or fewer points.

Western 'Dogs

Fresno State is 25-19-4 in the western events.

Fresno State has 14 wins in the horsemanship and 11 in the reining.

The Bulldogs have six western MOP honors, with four in horsemanship and two in reining.

Senior Kendra Lee leads the horsemanship with a 4-1-0 record and two MOPs this fall. She suffered her first loss of the season at Baylor last time out.

Freshman Hailey Olson and junior Abby Goddard have one MOP each.

Goddard and Aubrey Gerdes each have three wins on the year.

Sophomore Adrianna Runzo has a team-leading three reining wins, earning the MOP in two of those wins.

Runzo has the only reining MOPs for the Bulldogs so far this fall.

Jumping Seat 'Dogs

The jumping seat squads combine for a 23-25-0 record.

Fresno State has 14 wins in the fences and nine in the flat.

Fresno State has seven total jumping seat MOPs with five in the fences and two in the flat.

A trio of Bulldogs have 4-1-0 records in the fences in Paris Mahoney, Paloma Primavera and Averey Pritchard.

Mahoney and Primavera have two fences MOPs each, while Prichard has one.

Primavera has won the fences MOP in the last two meets.

Mahoney leads the team with three wins in the flat.

The freshman also has one of two flat MOPs on the year.

Senior Yasmin Roman earned the flat MOP in the season opener against South Dakota State.

Roman has a 2-2-0 record in the flat this year.

Scouting Georgia

Georgia is 3-2 overall and 2-0 in SEC competition this season.

Georgia is coming off of a 13-7 win at UC Davis on Thursday, extending its winning streak to three.

Georgia is 2-0 on the road.

Georgia's western associate head coach McKenzie Lantz Breuker was once on staff at Fresno State as the western assistant coach from 2015-17.
