COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Fresno State women's cross country team finished Friday morning's 2024 Mountain West Cross Country Championships in eighth place with 246 points at Eisenhower Golf Course. It was the highest finish for the Bulldogs since 2014.
Fresno State last finished eighth when it hosted the meet at Woodward Park a decade ago. It has been the Bulldogs' highest finish with 11 teams in the conference.
Chiara Pedol paced the 'Dogs with a time of 22:56.6, placing 52nd in the 6k, the highest finish by a Bulldog freshman since 2018. Fresno State's Top 3 of Pedol, Khushleen Khakh (23:05.1) and Corie Smith (23:30.2) finished within nine spots of one another.
The Bulldog men placed ninth with 276 points. Guillermo Lopez was the team's top finish, placing 62nd with a time of 28:46.7 in the 8k.
