DiPaola, Tuck named nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS - Fresno State seniors Sara Tuck (equestrian) and Amelia DiPaola (track and field) have been nominated by Fresno State as institutional nominees for the 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

The NCAA Woman of the Year program was established in 1991 and honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three divisions. To be eligible, a nominee must have competed and earned a varsity letter in an NCAA-sponsored sport and must have earned her undergraduate degree by Summer 2024.

Sara Tuck - Fresno State Equestrian

Tuck closed out her career with first team All-America honors in the flat. She was also an All-Big 12 selection to the flat team.

In the 2023-24 season, and her final year of eligibility, Tuck rode for a 9-3-1 overall record in the flat while earning four Most Outstanding Performer honors.

Her nine wins in the flat were the most by any Bulldog this season, in any event.

The native of Carmel, Calif. was a two-time All-Big 12 selection in the flat.

She owns two program records including most career MOPs with 10 in her career. She also has the program's top flat score with a 96 scored in the Spring of 2023.

Tuck excelled academically as a Bulldog, earning her undergraduate degree in agriculture business with a minor in animal science. She went on to pursue her MBA while completing her athletic eligibility at Fresno State.

Amelia DiPaola - Fresno State Track & Field

DiPaola concluded her career with her first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing as a Honorable Mention All-American.

She is a two-time All-Mountain West honoree in the hammer (2022, 2024).

She set personal bests in both the hammer (62.89m/206-4) and shot put (15.02m/49-3.5) during 2024.

The Fremont, Calif. native ranks No. 5 on the program's all-time list in the hammer and No. 10 in the shot put.

Scored in both the hammer (3rd) and shot put (6th) at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships and in the weight throw (8th) and shot put (5th) at the MW Indoor Championships.

DiPaola earned her degree this spring in Animal Science-Pre Veterinary.

She is a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team selection.
