USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Fresno State baseball team is wrapping up the regular season on the road with a three-game series against Air Force this weekend.

The Mountain West standings are getting tight, and Fresno State remains tied for first place with New Mexico with three conference games left for each club in 2024.

ITS MURF OR NOTHIN'

Murf Gray batted .583 for the Bulldogs in their series win over conference challenger UNLV.

Murf had seven hits on the weekend in 12 at-bats with a single and a home run.

He also drove in six runs and had a career-high four-hit game against UNLV.

Murf had a .917 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage.

He struck out only once on the weekend and drew a walk.

THE MW AND THE "M" STANDS FOR "MESSY"

Going into the final weekend of the regular season, Mountain West opponents and neck and neck.

So far, no team has clinched a spot in the MW Championship just yet.

The Championship will be held next weekend in San Diego, Calif. at Tony Gwynn Stadium where the Bulldogs previously fell in three straight games to San Diego State earlier this season.

The top four teams in the MW earn a spot in the double-elimination tournament.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE BIRDS

The Diamond 'Dogs hosted the Falcons on March 22-24 at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium.

Fresno State dropped game one of the series but claimed a series victory over Air Force in the second and third games.

The Bulldogs outscored the Falcons 27-9 in the series with a dominant 18-4 win in the series finale.

Fresno State stripped Air Force of the first-place spot in the MW standings and the Bulldogs have been at the top of the leaderboard since.
