IRVING, Texas - Four members of the 2023 Fresno State football team have been named to the 2024 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced on Wednesday. Levelle Bailey, Jake Boust, Malachi Langley and Charles Remlinger were Fresno State's honorees.
Bailey, a 2023 team captain as voted upon by his peers, earned a 3.53 cumulative GPA while earning his undergraduate degree in communication. Bailey continued his athletic and academic career at Fresno State, enrolling in a certificate of advanced study program for his final semester.
The senior from Sacramento was a William V. Campbell Trophy nominee in 2023, recognizing athletic and academic excellence along with commitment to serving the community and outstanding leadership.
Boust, a senior tight end, earned a 3.5 undergraduate cumulative GPA in kinesiology - exercise science.
Langley, who enters 2024 as one of the veteran leaders on the defense, maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA while earning his sociology degree at Fresno State.
Remlinger, who saw game action as a contributor on the defensive line and on special teams in 2023, graduated with a 3.41 undergraduate GPA while earning his degree in business administration with an emphasis in data analytics.
Boust, Langley and Remlinger all return for their final year of eligibility in 2024. Bailey has exhausted his eligibility, and has began his training for the next level.
The 2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. An elite group of 1,989 players from 339 schools qualified for membership in 2024, setting a new record for the number of members in a single year during the program's 18-year history.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be either:
A senior player, who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2023; or
A graduated player, who has been out of high school at least (3) years;
And must have:
Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); and
Been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2023 season.
Fresno State has had at least one student-athlete named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society every year since 2013.
