FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team is back at home for a weekend series against Mountain West foes the Nevada Wolf Pack.
HONORING A LEGACY
Fresno State will honor the legacy of Coach Pete Beiden on Saturday with a pregame ceremony.
Pete Beiden coached for the Bulldogs for 21 years, accumulating a 600-268 record from 1948-1969.
In that time, Beiden did not have a single losing season.
Beiden was inducted into the Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame in 1964, as well as the Fresno State Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
In 1972 his number 2 was retired and Fresno State's field was named after the iconic coach.
THE VIEW'S GREAT UP HERE
With a 9-3 conference record, Fresno State is at the top of the Mountain West standings.
The Diamond 'Dogs have a game and a half lead over the weekend's opponent Nevada who is tied with Air Force at 7-4 in conference play.
So far in 2024, the Bulldogs have not lost a conference series.
Fresno State is just coming off of a clean sweep over UNLV last weekend, the squad's third straight sweep over the Rebels.

With five athletes in the rankings, Fresno State has the most ranked athletes in the MW.
LEAGUE LEADERS
The Bulldogs are topping the charts in the MW, leading in several categories both team and individual.
The 'Dogs lead the conference in pitching with a team ERA of 4.25, led by Jack Anker with the best individual ERA in the MW (2.13).
Eddie Saldivar has clocked the most hits in the conference with 43, followed closely by Rocco Peppi with 39.
Saldivar also leads with 33 runs scored.
The Bulldogs have hit the most doubles in the conference with 72 and have struck out a league-high 255 batters.
