ROLLING HILL ESTATES, Calif.- The Fresno State tennis program wrapped up their final tournament of the fall at the Jack Kramer Invitational.
Matilde Magrini and Misaki Kobayashi played in the final doubles match against the University of Arizona.
How It Happened
'Dogs got the invitational started on the singles court with Hannah Pieper and Mariya Vyshkina qualifying into the round of 16.
Fresno State faced its greatest challenge in the main draw open singles round of 16 with two Bulldogs facing off against top seeded players for Loyola Marymount. Pieper faced the No.1 seed Rogozinska, who would take the first two sets of the match. Vyshkina faced the No.3 seed Tcherkes-Zade. Vyshkina started off strong taking the first set (6-2), her opponent took best two out of three sets. Fresno State's time on the singles court ended in the round of 16.
Doubles teammates, Matilde Magrini and Misaki Kobayashi saw the most success in the tournament, qualifying to the final match. The pair got their first play in on Saturday morning against the University of Arizona with the 'Dogs getting the best of the tiebreaker set. Moving through the semifinals to defeat Cal State Fullerton. Fresno State saw another tiebreaker match in the finals against the University of Arizona that ended in the Wildcats favor.
