RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Fresno State cross country teams were in Riverside on Saturday competing in the UCR Invitational for the third consecutive year. Back in the lineup, Corie Smith led the Bulldog women while Juanathan Reyes was the top finisher for the men.
In her first race of the season, Smith clocked a time of 21.37.6 in the women's 6k invite. It was 10 seconds faster than the time she posted a year ago at the meet. After pacing the women two weeks ago, freshman Khushleen Khakh was second for the Bulldogs on Saturday, finishing in 22.16.9, nearly 30 seconds better than she opened the year with.
Reyes led the 'Dogs again, finishing 11th in the men's 8k open. The senior finished the race in 25.15.2. Freshman Emilio Nunez was next for Fresno State at 27.17.4.
