MORGAN HILL, Calif. – Fresno State's Matthew Manganello and Matthew Sutherland's collegiate season came to a close on Wednesday at the Morgan Hill Regional. Sutherland finished tied for 24th while Manganello tied for 61st at the three-day tournament held at The Institute Golf Club.
Sutherland carded a 5-over par for the tournament after shooting a 74 on Wednesday. The Bulldog sank a birdie at No. 16 for the second straight day which moved him back inside the Top 25.
Manganello finished with a 78 in his final round. Overall, he shot 15-over par for the week
LMU's Riley Lewis claimed the regional's individual spot to the NCAA Championships, carding a 4 under for the week and winning a three-hole playoff.
While Manganello and Sutherland's collegiate season ends, both will be competing at U.S. Open final qualifying sites during the next few weeks.
