CLOVIS, Calif. – The Fresno State track and field team added five more wins to their weekend total on Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The 'Dogs earned four of their seven in the throws with two more today.
Jordyn Bryant grabbed one of those wins in the discus. Holding what would already be a winning mark heading into the finals, the junior twice improved on it. On her final attempt, Bryant launched a career best toss of 55.42m/181-10. The mark moved her to No. 4 on the program's all-time list.
Led by Bryant, the 'Dogs went 1-3-5 in the event with Jocelynn Budwig at 48.12m/161-2 and Emma Harper at 45.65m/149-9.
Earlier in the day, Bryant finished runner-up in the shot put to teammate Cierra Jackson. The sophomore who landed the winning toss of 15.34m/50-4 on her first attempt of the competition, led the Bulldogs' group to a 1-2-3-5 finish. Bryant (14.87m/48-9.5) and Budwig (14.18m/46-6.25) were second and third while Amelia DiPaola was fifth (13.45m/44-1.5).
On the track, the wins started in the 1500 meters from Shaylee Grimm. With a personal best of 4:44.79, she paced her group to a 1-3-5-7 finish. Rain Gomez finished third (4:46.54) while Corie Smith (4:47.68) and Morgan Hutchison (4:57.01) came in at fifth and seventh.
With a pair of career bests, Ceonna Pipion finished third in the 400 meters before picking up the win in the 200 meters. The junior moved closer to the Bulldogs' Top 10 in the 400, clocking in at 54.25. Already in the Top 10 in the 200, Pipion dropped under 24 seconds for the first time in her career, crossing the line in 23.96 to move from No. 8 to No. 6.
Pipion closed her day by helping the 'Dogs to a season best and second-place finish in the 4x400 relay (3:47.67).
In the jumps, Rachela Pace set a new personal best in the triple. Narrowly besting teammate Queen Okoh's mark from two weeks ago, the sophomore won the event with a jump of 12.47m/40-11. Okoh finished second with a mark of 11.89m/39-0.

The Bulldogs will take next weekend off before spreading the team across three meets in Southern California the following week, competing in the Mt. SAC Relays, Bryan Clay Invitational and Beach Invitational.
