FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball program and interim head coach Ryan Overland released the 2023 schedule on Thursday.
The Diamond 'Dogs will get their 54-game regular season schedule underway on Friday, Feb. 17 at the MLB4 Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz., which will include a field of Tennessee, Arizona, Michigan, UC San Diego, Grand Canyon and Michigan State. The complete schedule of the tournament is expected to be announced soon.
Fresno State will host 30 games against 13 different teams this spring and will play 21 road games against 11 different opponents with three neutral site contests in Arizona to start the season.
The 'Dogs will welcome Mountain West foes Nevada (March 10-12), New Mexico (March 17-19), San Diego State (April 14-16), San Jose State (April 21-23) and UNLV (May 12-14) to Fresno with road MW trips heading to San Jose State (March 3-5), UNLV (March 24-26), Air Force (April 6-8), New Mexico (April 28-30) and Nevada (May 5-7).
After opening the season away from Fresno for the first time since 2014, the 'Dogs will return home to host Nebraska Omaha in a four-game series on Feb. 23-26 and close out the month of February hosting San Francisco (Feb. 28).
The 'Dogs will also host midweek contests against Pacific (March 7), Cal Poly (March 28). Long Beach State (April 11) and Sacramento State (May 2) with road midweek games at Sacramento State (March 14), Long Beach State (March 21), UC Irvine (April 4), Pacific (April 18), San Francisco (April 26) & Cal Poly (May 9). The Bulldogs will also host non-conference three-game series against UC Santa Barbara (March 31-April 2) and Saint Mary's (May 18-20).
The Mountain West Tournament returns to Fresno for the first time since 2013 with the 'Dogs looking to capture their first tournament title since 2019.
Fresno State brings back 18 returners this spring while adding 18 newcomers.
