SPOKANE, Wash. – The Fresno State women's track and field team opened the indoor season with a pair of wins on Saturday in the throws at the Spokane Invitational hosted at The Podium.
Sophomore Cierra Jackson won the weight throw with a mark of 17.61m/57-9.5 while transfer Jordan Bryant captured the win in the shot put with a toss of 14.61m/47-11.25. The junior's best mark came on her third attempt, passing Jackson who finished second at 14.54m/47-8.5. Bryant placed two spots behind Jackson in the weight with a career-best 17.22m/56-6.
On the track, the Bulldogs went 2-5 in the 200 meters with Ceonn Pipion finishing runner-up. The junior finished with a time of 24.51 while transfer Chloe Sharp had a time of 24.93. The two teamed up with Nakyia Buckner and Brianna Sproles in the 4x400 relay to place second at 3:47.16.
