THE BONES

  • Fresno State Athletics is celebrating its centennial year and the 2021 football season is the 100th season of competition in program history.
  • Fresno State will face Hawai'i for the 54th time on Saturday. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series (29-23-1) and have won seven of their last ten meetings against Hawai'i - dating back to Nov. 19, 2011.
  • For the second straight week, Fresno State has had a player named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week. Junior wide receiver Jalen Cropper earns this week's honor after an explosive performance in Fresno State's 38-30 conference opening win over UNLV last Friday.
  • After their win over UNLV last Friday, the Bulldogs have jumped up three spots to No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 21 in the Coaches Poll. Fresno State earned its highest ranking since the team finished the 2018 season as the No. 18 team in both the AP poll and the Coaches Poll.
  • Fresno State senior quarterback Jake Haener has been named one of eight quarterbacks named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list for his play during week four of the college football season. Haener picks up a spot on the Great 8 List for the second-straight week.
  • QB Jake Haener has completed 136-of-186 attempts in five games this season. Haener has passed at a 73.1 clip, ranking him No. 7 in the NCAA in completion percentage. Haener is the current FBS leader in passing yards (1,842). Haener was the first quarterback in the FBS to surpass 1,000-yards passing this season.
  • Haener had his third-straight 300-yard passing performance with 378 yards passing against UNLV. The senior QB has eight career 300-yard passing games, in just 11 career games.
  • RB Ronnie Rivers became the program's all-time leading touchdown scorer with touchdown No. 45 of his career against UConn on Aug. 28.
  • Fresno State's defense has registered at least 8.0 tackles for loss in four of five games played this season. The Bulldogs are second in the FBS in total tackles for loss (41.0) and are averaging 8.2 TFL per game this season.
  • Junior defensive back Evan Williams had a memorable game in his last visit to the island, earning his first career start as a true freshman in the 2019 contest and finishing with nine tackles (seven solo), an interception and a broken up pass.
  • On Friday, Sept. 24, Fresno State Athletics announced it will retire the number 22 jersey in recognition of Bulldog fullback Lorenzo Neal (1990-92). The retirement celebration will take place at Fresno State's next home game, homecoming, on Oct. 23 versus Nevada.
