President Donald Trump made big news this morning on Twitter with the announcement that Rex Tillerson has been fired as Secretary of State. Trump has selected Mike Pompeo, former Kansas Representative and current CIA Director, to be the next Secretary of State. As a nomination in Trump's cabinet, Pompeo still has to be approved by the U.S. Senate. With potential denuclearization talks on the table with North Korea in May, President Trump may be thinking Pompeo is the person best-suited to handle negotiations with North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un, as well as America's allies in South Korea and Japan, both of whom are very interested in a denuclearized North Korea.
