Tax experts are weighing in on Governor Newsom's proposal for universal healthcare.

Jared Walczak with Tax Foundation says California has a projected $31 billion surplus. However, universal healthcare is estimated to cost roughly $400 billion dollars a year. Walczak notes California is hoping an additional $200 billion will come from the federal government to help pay for the program.
