Update: Person Of Interest Identified In Ice Cream Truck Carjacking

Update: Rancho Cordova Police responded to an armed carjacking of an ice cream truck around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon (July 18).

After crashing the ice cream truck into a ditch on Douglas Boulevard, 32-year-old Larnelle Flournoy exited the vehicle and demanded the driver of a black BMV to turn over her vehicle to him, according to a media release by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

Flournoy got into the driver's seat of the BMW and began fleeing from deputies until crashing into a vehicle at the intersection of Douglas Boulevard and Zinfandel Drive, according to the media release.

The female drive of the black BMV is now considered a person of interest in the carjacking of the ice cream truck and the events that followed. She has been identified as 31-year-old Christina Butuza.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Butuza is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
