Foresthill Bridge BASE Jumpers Arrested

Three men were arrested on Sunday after parachuting off the Foresthill Bridge in Auburn.

Police say they responded to the bridge around 9 a.m. after receiving calls about a suicidal woman on the railing.

Placer County deputies didn't find a woman when they arrived on the scene, but did spot a group of BASE jumpers on the bridge's catwalk.

They alerted park rangers about the jumpers and shined a light on them.

The group fled and was followed by a ranger in a patrol truck.

Three men were eventually caught and arrested on charges of resisting arrest and trespassing.

Christopher W. Ludlow, 27, of Sacramento, Michael King, 29, of South Lake Tahoe, and 30-year-old Christopher T. Peterson from Davis were taken into custody.

Deputies say several jumpers got away.
