Downtown Sacramento Traffic Expected To Be Heavy On Saturday

The streets of Sacramento will be flooded with crowds of people excited to watch the seventh and final leg of the Amgen Tour of California on Saturday.

At the same time, multiple college graduations and the Northern California volleyball championships will be taking place - all downtown.

The bicycle race, will start a little after 10 a.m. and conclude by 2 p.m. Road closures and detours associated with the tour are expected to cause traffic congestion.

Men's riders will start (and finish) near 11th and L, make their way to Winters, and then circle back to downtown.

Drivers are being urged to research the route they are planning to take Saturday and leave themselves extra time. Parking spots around most of the events can be reserved ahead of time through SacPark.
