Cremarosa strikes out 11 in shutout over Cougars

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team secured its fifth-straight Mountain West series with a shutout win over Washington State.

The 8-0 victory over the Cougars elevated the Bulldogs to a 21-21 overall record (14-6 MW).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Cayden Munster began the scoring for the Bulldogs in the second inning with two outs by crushing a three-run homer over the right field wall.

Fresno State doubled its lead in the third inning. Murf Gray and Griffen Sotomayor hit consecutive doubles, and Gray was sent home by a Bobby Blandford ground rule double. Lee Trevino followed by singling through the left side and cleared the bases, making it a 6-0 game.

Sotomayor and Blandford began the fifth inning with a single and a double, respectively. Trevino and Cam Schneider earned RBIs in the next two plate appearances.

Aidan Cremarosa cruised through 8.0 scoreless innings, striking out 11 batters, allowing only four hits and no walks.

Cooper Bergman relieved Cremarosa in the ninth inning and shut the Cougars down in order.

NOTES

This is the second straight game without a walk allowed by the Bulldog pitching staff.

Aidan Cremarosa struck out a career-high 11 batters.

This is Cremarosa's third game with 10+ strikeouts.
