BERKLEY, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team fell 9-2 in a midweek game against the Cal Bears on Tuesday night.
With the loss, Fresno State moves to 17-19 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cal scored early with an RBI triple in the bottom of the first.
Justin Stransky led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Cam Schneider singled through the middle to send Stransky home and tie the game at one.
A grand slam in the bottom of the second and a solo home run in the third surged the Bears ahead 6-1 over the Bulldogs.
The Bears' lead was extended by three runs in the sixth inning with a pair of home runs.
Lee Trevino singled in the ninth inning, and Cayden Munster followed with a walk. Bobby Blandford drove in Trevino with a single through the left side, but the Bulldogs were unable to overcome the deficit and fell 9-2.
NOTES
Fresno State's last win at Cal was on May 9, 2000
This is the sixth game of 2025 in which neither the Bulldogs nor their opponent had an error.
Justin Stransky went 2-for-3 and extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
