LOS ANGELES - Fresno State senior attacker Abbey Simshauser was named the Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in Fresno State's road victory at No. 20 San Diego State last weekend. With the win, Fresno State (10-7, 4-1 GCC) moved into second place in the conference standings.
Simshauser did a little bit of everything for Fresno State last week. She scored two goals with three assists, three drawn exclusions, and two steals. Both of her goals against the Aztecs came off of powerplay opportunities.
This is the second weekly honor for Simshuaser this season after earning the recognition in Week One.
Fresno State is off this week, but returns to the pool next Saturday hosting Azusa Pacific for Senior Day where Simshauser, Brooke Ochoa, Elisa Grim, Ella Simone and Abigayle Armstrong will be honored ahead of the game.
With the calendar turning to April, the Golden Coast Conference Championship Tournament is just a few weeks away, April 25-27. This year's championship event is hosted by LMU, and tickets are available here.
