Fresno State hosts Bulldog Invite on Saturday

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State track and field will begin its outdoor home schedule on Saturday, hosting the Bulldog Invitational at Warmerdam Field. It will be the first time since 2011 that the Bulldogs will host every event of a meet at its on-campus facility. Like that year, it will be Cal Poly joining the 'Dogs. Athletes from Fresno City College and College of the Sequoias will fill out the field.

Throwing events will begin at 9 a.m. PT with running events starting at 1 p.m.

INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS OVER, TIME FOR OUTDOOR

With the Bulldogs wrapping up the indoor season last weekend at the Mountain West Championships, Fresno State will see five of its athletes from that meet competing this weekend. That list includes heptathletes Ella Spaulding and Colleen Uzoekwe and throwers Tearra Haney, Emma Harper and Maria Lawson.

Also making their outdoor debut this weekend after redshirting the 2025 indoor season are Madison Hutton and Cierra Jackson.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE

Fresno State last hosted an entire meet at Warmerdam Field in 2011, a dual meet with Cal Poly. The teams split with women winning 100-97 and the men falling 104-90.

Fresno State has since opted to host the hammer and select events on campus, running the remainder of its events for meets at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis.

HOSTING THREE IN THE VALLEY

Fresno State will host three meets in the Central Valley this season. The first will be the Bulldog Invitational held at Warmerdam Field on March 8. The end of March will see the West Coast Relays take place March 28-29. The Bulldogs' final tune-up for the Mountain West Championships will be the Fresno State Invitational on May 3.

Meets also in the Valley are the Sunbird Invitational at Fresno Pacific (Feb. 22) and the Mountain West Championships at Buchanan High School (May 15-17).
