Bulldog Bones
Fresno State closes out the regular season with a trip to TCU and Oklahoma State this weekend.
The Bulldogs are 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play this year.
Fresno State just suffered its first loss of the spring season in an 11-9 loss to South Carolina at home. The loss snapped Fresno State's four-meet win streak that was the second-longest in program history.
Fresno State had its longest win streak since the 2014-15 season.
Fresno State has conference wins over Oklahoma State and Baylor. The Bulldogs previously defeated Oklahoma State in a 9-9 raw score tiebreaker at home to close out the fall season.
Following the loss to South Carolina, Fresno State dropped to No. 8 in the NCEA national dual discipline team rankings.
Fresno State has not defeated TCU since Oct. 2, 2021, and have not defeated TCU on the road since Feb. 21, 2020.
If the Bulldogs defeat Oklahoma State on Saturday, it would be the first time in series history that Fresno State defeated the Cowgirls in back-to-back meetings.
Western 'Dogs
Fresno State is 57-44-8 in the western events this season.
The Bulldogs have 29 reining wins and 28 horsemanship wins.
Last time out, the Bulldogs swept the western MOPs as Kendra Lee won her second in-a-row in the horsemanship and Brogan Hill earned her second of the season in the reining.
Lee leads the team (entire roster, not just horsemanship or western) with eight wins. She has an 8-2-1 record, for her most wins in a season in her career.
Lee also has a team-high four MOPs this season, including the last two meets.
True freshman Hailey Olson has rode strong in her collegiate debut, owning a 5-4-2 overall record with one MOP honor. The young Bulldog rode for an event-high 76 last time out.
In the reining, sophomore Alana Becker leads the group with seven wins. Becker is on a current four-meet win streak, and has not lost this spring.
Hill earned the reining MOP last time out with a season-best 72.
Jumping Seat 'Dogs
Fresno State is 59-44-3 overall in the jumping seat events.
The Bulldogs have 31 fences wins and 28 flat wins.
Fresno State has earned 14 jumping seat MOPs this season, led by Paris Mahoney with three in the fences and two in the flat.
Mahoney leads both events with seven wins in each.
In just her first year, her three flat MOPs are already the sixth-most by a player in their career at Fresno State.
Fellow freshman Paloma Primavera also adds seven wins and two MOPs in the fences.
Against South Carolina, Primavera got the chance to compete against her older sister Bella who is a fences rider for the Gamecock. The sister duo got the luck of the draw, and competed against each other. The SI article can be found here.
In the flat, Molly Stewart has had a big season as she owns a 7-4-0 record on the year. Last time out, she rode for a career-high 88 in the event.
Stewart also competes in the fences, and has a 5-5-0 record there. She also set a new career-high with an 88 against South Carolina.
