MORAGA, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team dropped its first road game of 2025 to Saint Mary's, 11-3, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs leveled their reason record to 4-4 going into its first road series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bulldogs scored early in the game as leadoff hitter Sky Collins reached on an error and was driven home by a Justin Stransky RBI fielder's choice.
The Gaels tied the score in the bottom of the frame with a solo home run down the left field line.
The Gaels began to gain momentum in the second inning, scoring three runs on timely hits and taking advantage of a hit-by-pitch.
Saint Mary's struck again in the third and fourth innings, adding five more runs to their total. A combination of walks, a double, and a home run extended their lead to 9-1.
Fresno State showed a spark of life in the seventh, rallying for two runs behind a two-RBI double from Triston Gray, cutting the deficit to 9-3. The Gaels responded in their half of the inning with a run of their own, making it 10-3.
The Gaels tacked on another insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning, finalizing their lead to 11-3.
