DOWN THEY GO
Fresno State has put in work this season breaking six records, three Aquatic Center records and three program records. This season Fresno State saw two first-time record holders and two first-time individual record holders.
Aliz Kalmar is no stranger to breaking records. The junior broke the first record of the season in the 200 breaststroke at the Fresno State Invitational. Kalmar followed that up with another program record, also in the 200 breaststroke at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational. Kalmar swam the breaststroke leg of the record breaking 400 medley relay.
Julia Matney swam for her first individual record in the 100 IM , good for the program record. In the same weekend, Matney was a part of the 400 medley that broke an Aquatic Center Record. The 400 medley relay was the first Fresno State relay to hold an Aquatic Center record since 2018, all previous records were held by Cal from 2017-2023. Matney earned her second MW weekly honor of her career the following week.
Ryley Clark and Jenna Pulkkinen are two first-time record holders. Clark and Pulkkinen etch their names on the record board as a part of the 400 medley relay.
Pullkkinen adds on to her Aquatic Center record with two individual program records and one Aquatic Center record, for the first time in her career. The junior broke both program records in the final home meet of the season and secured an NCAA 'B' cut in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. The Finland native grabbed both the program and Aquatic Center record from Kalmar in the 200 breaststroke.
