'Dogs fall to Cougars in San Luis Obispo

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- Fresno State women's tennis team dropped their first road contest of the season in a neutral matchup against Washington State University on Saturday morning at Ronca Tennis Center, 6-1.

How it happened

Fresno State behind after dropping the doubles point. Yinglak Jittakoat and Matilde Magrini lost their first doubles match this season, 6-2. Magrini also saw a three set match falling to Alvarez Sande at No.1 singles (6-1, 2-6, 6-4). Fresno State's single point came from freshmen Paulina Montiel in singles at No.5. Montiel defeated Puvill in a tense three set match. Montiel earned the best of the tie breaker, 7-4, then came back in the third.

Up next: Fresno State continues play in San Luis Obispo and will face Cal Poly on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. PT at Ronca Tennis Center.
