FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State football head coach Matt Entz announced a pair of administrative additions to the staff. Ben Hynds has been named Assistant Athletics Director for Football while Jake Rasmussen has been named Director of Scouting.
Hynds comes to the Valley from USC where he served as the Associate Director of Football Operations from 2021-24. His resume also includes stops at Western Kentucky and Louisiana Tech. He played collegiate football at Abilene Christian from 2010-14.
In his role with the Bulldogs, Hynds will oversee all team operational items and assist in managing the day-to-day functions of the Fresno State football program.
Rasmussen joined the Bulldog football staff in January of 2024 as the Assistant Director of Recruiting Operations. In his new role of Director of Scouting, Rasmussen will oversee all recruiting operations and will monitor the Bulldogs' NIL efforts.
Before arriving at Fresno State, Rasmussen was at Eastern Washington as the Director of Football Operations.
The Bulldogs have filled several coaching positions, analyst positions, and non-coaching support staff roles this offseason as Entz puts together his staff and roster. Fresno State Athletics also hired Kelly Csernica as Director of Sports Nutrition in January. Csernica will be instrumental in the success of the Bulldogs on and off the field, ensuring proper nutrition of the Bulldog student-athletes. Fresno State also returns Andy Ward as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance, and football's head strength and conditioning coach.
