FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's tennis team opened the spring season with a win over the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds on Thursday night at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Complex, 7-0.
How it happened
Bulldogs started with the lead after clinching the doubles point. Eliza Dunbar and Sofia Pizzoni were the first pair to finish in a clean 6-0 set. Top flight doubles pair Matilde Magrini and Yinglak Jittakoat clinch the doubles point in a 6-1 win over Ueoku/Paula.
Klara Vukicevic was on point number two for the Bulldogs in 6-0 sweep over Villagomez. Fresno State never faltered holding the lead in all matches. Dunbar defeated Mitchell; 6-2, 6-0 on court four. Pizzoni and Lopicic played a 6-2 game in both sets for the match win on courts one and two, respectively. True freshman Paulina Montiel saw her first collegiate win over Munoz, 6-1, 6-1 in the third singles slot.
Gianna Mastro was the final point clincher on court five with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Faherty.
