Yeast opens Bulldog career in Top 10

RENO, Nev. - Fresno State newcomer Zoe Yeast began her Bulldog career by earning a spot on the program's record book on Friday at the Silver State Invitational held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The senior finished second in the weight throw, landing a mark of 19.15m/62-10 that jumped her to No. 7 on Fresno State's all-time list in the event.

Yeast led the Bulldogs' weight throw group which finished 2-3-5 in the event. Tearra Haney finished fourth at 17.04m/55-11 and Maria Lawson was fifth 16.98m/55-8.5.

In the high jump, Liz Tarczy opened her indoor season taking second with a clearance of 1.78m/5-10. The sophomore finished second on misses.

Late in the day in the 200 meters, Ceonna Pipion began her final season as a Bulldog placing third. The senior finished with a time of 24.14. Two spots behind her, and crossing the line at 24.15 was newcomer Itzia Mejia Garcia.

Day 2 of the meet for the Bulldogs will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.
