FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 7 Fresno State equestrian team fell 10-5 to the sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs on Friday afternoon at the Student Horse Center. The Bulldogs drop their third-straight meet and move to 3-3 on the season.
Brogan Hill earned her first reining Most Outstanding Performer honor of the season with a 71.5 to win her point. She became the second Bulldog to earn an MOP in the reining on the year.
How it happened
Georgia opened with a 3-2 win in the fences. Fresno State earned points from Olivia Ferro and Paloma Primavera in the opening event. Molly Stewart scored a career-high 83.5 in her fences ride, but was outgained by her opponent Tessa Downey who had the MOP ride with an 88.
In the horsemanship, the teams saw three ties from Abby Goddard and Kendra Lee who each scored a 77, and by Hailey Olson with a 69.5. Georgia took the only two outright points in the event to take a 5-2 lead into the break.
Georgia also swept in the flat, 3-0. The teams saw ties by Paloma Primavera and Autumn Bradbury.
Fresno State took three points in the reining, started by Hill's MOP ride of a 71.5, tying her season-high score. Shelby Robinette and Alana Becker also won points for Fresno State to round out the scoring.
