FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 7 Fresno State equestrian team dropped a 11-9 decision to No. 3 TCU on Friday afternoon at the Student Horse Center. The loss snaps a three-meet winning streak for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs swept the western Most Outstanding Performer honors by Kendra Lee in the horsemanship and Adrianna Runzo in the reining.
Freshman Paloma Primavera earned her first career MOP in the fences with an 86.5.
How it Happened
Fresno State opened with a dominant 4-1 win in the fences behind points from Molly Stewart, Paloma Primavera, Paris Mahoney and Averey Pritchard. Stewart had the largest margin of defeat with a 75-63 point to open up the event. Primavera won her MOP with a 86.5-84.5 showing.
The Bulldogs and Horned Frogs had a tight matchup in the horsemanship, but Fresno State came out with a 3-2 advantage. Abby Goddard won the first point, and Aubrey Gerdes and Kendra Lee won the final two to close out the first half. Goddard had the largest margin of victory with a 75-71.75 point. Lee scored a 76.25 in her MOP win.
Fresno State led 7-3 at the break. TCU would take both second half events, including a sweep in the flat, to earn the come-from-behind victory.
