SAN DIEGO – The Fresno State women's soccer team dropped its second match of the week, falling 4-0 to San Diego State on Sunday afternoon. It was the fifth straight defeat for the Bulldogs at the SDSU Sports Deck.
The 'Dogs were doubled up in shots, 16-8. The Aztecs put seven of those on frame compared to Fresno State's two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Just over a minute after Laura Mas got a look at the edge of the six that forced a diving stop from Alexa Madueno, San Diego State opened the scoring. Darting through the midfield, Emma Gaines-Ramos laid off a pass to Kali Trevithick who ripped off the hands of Ashton Conley.
Continuously putting the Bulldog defense under pressure, the Aztecs doubled their lead in the 41st minute, less than 30 seconds after Fresno State head coach was sent off. A low cross across the face of goal from Logan Nidy found the foot of Carlin Blake.
SDSU made it a three-goal lead in the 64th minute. Gaines-Ramos popped up a loose ball in the box that dropped just under the crossbar. Denise Castro tacked on another for the Aztecs three minutes later.
