FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno State opens Mountain West Play this week, hosting Boise State on Thursday and No. 10 Utah State on Sunday. They were the top teams in the Mountain West during nonconference play with a combined 15-2-1 record.
Kickoff against the Broncos is set for 7 p.m. PT at Bulldog Soccer Stadium. Sunday's matchup is scheduled to kick off at noon. Both matches will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
QUICK LOOK
• The Bulldogs are coming off their second-best nonconference winning percentage in program history at .688 after posting a 5-2-1 record.
• The Bulldogs' five nonconference wins were their most since 2017.

STRONG IN THE NONCON
Fresno State finished the nonconference portion of its schedule at 5-2-1, one of its best nonconference seasons in program history.
The .688 nonconference winning percentage is the second highest in program history (1999 - .692).
Fresno State closed nonconference play with a 5-2-1 record which matched the 2017 team's record.
KEEPING THEM CLOSE
Matches tend to be close in soccer and Fresno State's games have lived up to that in 2024. Seven of the Bulldogs' eight matches have been played within a goal.
Fresno State is 5-1-1 this season in matches decided by a goal for less.
RANKED TEAM COMING TO FRESNO
When Fresno State welcomes No. 10 Utah State to the Central Valley, it will be the fourth time in program history that the Bulldogs' have hosted a team ranked in the Top 10.
The 'Dogs are 1-2-1 all-time against Top 10 teams at home. The lone win came against Fresno State's first-ever Top 10 opponent at home, No. 6 USC on Sept. 30, 1999 (2-1).
Fresno State's most recent Top 10 opponent at home was No. 7 San Diego State on Oct. 14, 2012 (3-1).
The Bulldogs are 1-5-2 all-time against Top 25 opponents in Fresno with their last one coming on Aug. 31, 2013, a 1-0 defeat in overtime to No. 23 Santa Clara.
LIMITING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE BACK
Prior to facing then-No. 19 Pepperdine, Fresno State had only allowed four goals through its first seven games. The Waves put in one more than the 'Dogs had allowed in the seven previous matches, moving the Bulldogs from first to sixth in goals allowed in the Mountain West.
282 Division I teams currently average more than the 9.0 shots per game that the Bulldogs are allowing per game.

Fresno State is 11-13-3 all-time against Boise State
The Bulldogs last win in the series came at home on April 4, 2021 (1-0). Their last win during a fall season came on Oct. 6, 2019 in Fresno (2-1).
Fresno State is 7-4-0 against the Broncos in Fresno.
SERIES HISTORY - UTAH STATE
The all-time series between Fresno State and Utah State is tied at 9-9-4. Four of the Bulldogs' wins have come on a neutral site.
