FRESNO, Calif. – As we get closer to the start of the 2024-25 college basketball season, Fresno State has released its complete schedule. First-year head coach Vance Walberg's 31-game schedule will begin at the Save Mart Center on Nov. 8 with Sacramento State.
The slate features 14 home games, 15 road games and two neutral site contests. For the first time, the Mountain West will feature a 20-game conference schedule, playing each opponent home and away. It will be the first time since the 2012-13 season that the league will feature a balanced schedule.
The 20-game conference schedule is subject to date changes as the Mountain West's broadcast partners select the games they will broadcast. Tip times and date changes for those games will be announced during the next month.
The 'Dogs will open the season with Sacramento State in what will be just the second meeting for the two California programs since 2008. The road portion of the schedule begins the following week with trips to UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 13) and CSU Bakersfield (Nov. 16).
Prior to a three-game swing away from home, Fresno State will host Prairie View A&M (Nov. 20) as part of the Acrisure Holiday Invitational. The five-day road trip that follows includes Long Beach State (Nov. 23) and the Acrisure Holiday Invitational in Palm Desert, California with games against Washington State (Nov. 26) and either SMU or Cal Baptist the next day.
Following the tournament, the Bulldogs will play its first Mountain West game on Dec. 4, hosting San Diego State at the Save Mart Center.
After facing the Big West in their first three road games, the Bulldogs will play opponents from the West Coast Conference and Big XII in its last two with trips to Santa Clara (Dec. 7) and BYU (Dec. 11). Nonconference play will conclude with two games at the Save Mart Center with San Diego (Dec. 14) and Cal Baptist (Dec. 21) coming to Fresno.
The Bulldogs will move back into conference play on Dec. 28, traveling to UNLV before returning home to close out 2024 on New Year's Eve against New Mexico.
In a 1-1-2-2 away/home format, Fresno State will have home games on Jan. 11 and Jan. 18 against Nevada and Air Force, and Colorado State on Jan. 25. As the calendar turns to February, the 'Dogs will host San José State (Feb. 4) and Utah State (Feb. 8) back-to-back, and UNLV on Feb. 15.
Fresno State will host Boise State (March 1) and Wyoming (March 4) to begin March before closing out its regular season at San José State on March 8.
