SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Fresno State Volleyball team is headed to their final road tournament, the Santa Clara Invitational. The Bulldogs will compete against Southern Utah and host Santa Clara.
A TOUGH TEST
The Bulldogs are looking to bounce back from three straight losses at Colorado's Buffs Classic, Fresno State's toughest tournament of the season.
Fresno State was swept by both Washington and Colorado and suffered a nail-biter five-set loss to Georgia.
Despite the losses, Fresno State had an impressive performance over the weekend, especially in senior Ella Rud who set career-highs for kills with 28 and attacks with 62.
In addition, sophomore Mya Sellers set a career-high seven blocks against the Bulldogs.
ALMOST HOME
The Santa Clara Invitational is the final tournament in which the Bulldogs will compete on the road before the start of conference play.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, Fresno State will host the Central Cal Challenge in the Save Mart Center, hosting Sacramento State, Pacific and CSU Bakersfield.
WE MEET AGAIN
The Bulldogs are set to rematch the Southern Utah Thunderbirds this weekend after facing them in 2023.
Fresno State kept the match tight but ultimately fell 3-2 in a five-set thriller.
