COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State sophomore wide receiver Jalen Moss was named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Fresno State has now had a MW Special Teams Player of the Week in back-to-back years as Malik Sherrod earned the honor a season ago. Moss is just the eighth Bulldog all-time to earn the recognition. It is Moss' first career weekly honor by the Mountain West.
The native of Menlo Park, Calif. earns the recognition after his punt return performance against Sacramento State last weekend. He finished the night with four punt returns for 88 yards, but that included an 85-yard return for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was the first punt return for a touchdown of his career.
Moss had Fresno State's first punt return for a touchdown since 2022, and the 43rd all-time in program history.
Moss has proven to be a playmaker on offense in his career, but has been an additional spark on special teams through the first two weeks of the season.
Moss and the Bulldogs are back in action in Fresno this weekend, hosting New Mexico State on Saturday for Heroes Night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available here.
