COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Year Dionii Fraga has been named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Volleyball Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The Sanger native was a dynamite addition to the Bulldog squad in 2023 as the starting libero in every match and set last season. Fraga was responsible for 302 digs and averaged 4.25 digs per set, the highest in the conference in MW play in 2023.
In all 71 conference sets played for the Bulldogs last season Fraga led the team in digs. After assisting the Bulldogs in defeating Colorado State and Wyoming, Fraga was tabbed MW Freshman of the Week on October 24, 2023.
Fraga was crowned MW Freshman of the Year, All-MW and was a member of the MW All-Tournament Team after the Bulldogs completed a reverse sweep over Colorado State to claim the conference championship.
Fresno State was selected to finish fourth with 71 votes in the 2024 MW Preseason Poll as voted by the league's 11 head coaches. MW Tournament runner-up Colorado State was selected as the preseason favorite with 98 total votes and eight first-place votes.
