'Dogs ready for Team USA Olympic Trials

FRESNO, Calif. – With the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials beginning on Friday, Fresno State will have three athletes in the field. Making their first appearance at the trials are Jordyn Bryant, Cierra Jackson and Ceonna Pipion.

Pipion will be the first Bulldog to compete with the women's 400 meters beginning on Friday. She ranks No. 31 out of the 35 entrants with a time of 52.22. She is a two-time Mountain West medalist in the 400 and qualified for the NCAA West First Round, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Bryant and Jackson will both begin competition on Monday in the discus. Bryant is a two-time NCAA Honorable Mention All-American in the discus. She ranks No. 8 among the entrants with a mark of 61.03m/200-3 which she threw last month at the NCAA West First Round.

Jackson is a two-time MW medalist in the discus and a 2022 NCAA Honorable Mention All-American in the event. She ranks No. 15 in the field with a mark of 59.37m/194-9. The rising senior will also compete in the shot put were she is a three-time MW medalist in the event. She enters the competition ranked No. 23 among the field with a mark of 17.39m/57-0.75.
