INDIANAPOLIS - Five Fresno State athletic programs earned perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate scores for the 2022-23 academic year, the NCAA announced on Tuesday morning.
Fresno State's women's cross country and track and field teams, women's golf, swim & dive and volleyball each earned perfect APR scores in 2022-23.
Football and baseball recorded 990 scores in the release. For football, it is the highest APR in program history.
In addition to the five perfect 2022-23 APR scores, four teams – men's cross country, women's cross country, women's golf and swim & dive – maintained perfect multi-year APR scores, which represent data submitted from the 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 years.
Each academic year, every Division I sports team across the country calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
