FRESNO, CALIF.- Fresno State women's basketball announces their seventh signee for the 2024-25 season in hometown player, Laney Amundsen
Laney Amundsen becomes the seventh signee for 2024-25 Fresno State women's basketball team. The 6-foot-1 forward joins Fresno State after two seasons at CSUN and a stint at Fresno City College.
The Fresno native started 23 games in 30 appearances, averaging 6.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 28.6 minutes per game. Admundsen scored a season-high 14 points against Long Beach State on Dec. 30, charted 33 assists, 30 steals, and 11 blocks. Earned Big West Winter Academic All-Conference team.
Prior to CSU Northridge, Amundsen started her collegiate career at Fresno City College averaging 14.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for the Rams during the 2021-22 season. Named first team All-League selection who in 25 appearances, shot 48% from the field (135-281), 36% from three-point range (36-100), and 76.4% from the free throw line (55-74). Scored a season high 32 points against Reedley College on Jan. 22, 2022, won a league title, and advanced to the third round of the CCCAA Tournament.
Amundsen is the fifth transfer to sign with the Bulldogs for the upcoming 2024-25 season and will join Holly Griffiths (Pepperdine), Avery Watkins (Hawaii), Mariah Elohim (LIU), Saga Ukkonen (Texas Tech.) and incoming freshman Danae Powell and Rayna Williams.
