FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State Athletics Night of Champions returned to celebrate the 2023-24 academic and athletic year. Hosted by Equestrian's Elle Martin and Men's Track and Field's Garrett Ostrinski, student-athletes from all 17 sponsored sports gathered at the Resnick Student Union for dinner, music, and award recognition.
All-American Rachela Pace (Women's Track and Field) and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President Matthew Sutherland (Men's Golf) earned the department's top honors as the Bob Duncan Bulldogs of the Year.
Along with showcasing the department's conference champions and All-Americans, the ceremony highlighted nominees from every sport, along with the winners in these respective categories:
Director of Athletics Community Service Award: Equestrian
Newcomer Awards: Dionii Fraga (Volleyball) & Eddie Saldivar (Baseball)
Team Memorable Moments: 2023 MWC Tournament Volleyball Champions (Volleyball) & Season opener win at Purdue (Football)
Individual Memorable Moments: Kaitlin Howarth Goal in OT of GCC to win tournament and advance to NCAA tournament (Water Polo) & Rocco Peppi 496 foot home run against New Mexico in a 10-5 win on April 12th (Baseball)
Bulldog Academic Excellence Awards: Koso Agina (Football) & Elenora Trentin (Swimming and Diving)
