FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State softball team dropped the series finale against Colorado State 11-1 on Sunday at Margie Wright Diamond.
Fresno State (32-16, 12-7) was held to a season-low four hits in the contest. The four hits came off the bats of four different Bulldogs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Three singles and a pair of walks led to a three-run first inning for Colorado State. Fresno State managed to get runners on first and third, but a called strike ended the threat.
Following a 1-2-3 top half, the Bulldogs pulled one back. Back-to-back singles set up a sacrifice bunt from Lauren Almeida that brought in Madison Rey.
CSU answered back in the top of the third with two runs on a hit and an error to take a 4-1 lead.
The Rams made it 11-1 in the sixth with six runs on seven hits. The Bulldogs only had one hit during the final four innings.
