COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior right-handed pitcher Taylor Gilmore was named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week for games played April 16-21, announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Gilmore helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-2 week, including a series win over UNLV, who entered the weekend in second place in the MW standings. The senior finished the week with a 0.58 ERA, going 1-0 in the circle, pitching 12.0 innings with two starts and three appearances.
The Broomfield, Colo. native only gave up one earned run throughout the week. Gilmore didn't allow any extra-base hits and only recorded one walk. She dished 12 strikeouts, limiting opposing batters to a .261 batting average.
Gilmore propelled the Bulldogs to a series win over the Rebels, pitching her fifth complete game of the season and striking out six in game three. She owns a 17-3 record in the circle this season.
This is her first weekly conference honor as a Bulldog.
