San Jose State responded in the fourth with a three-run homer that tied the game.

A single from Tommy Hopfe and a double from Grady Morgan put the Diamond 'Dogs back in the lead, scoring three runs.

A two-run shot but the Spartans were within one in the seventh and pushed ahead of the Bulldogs with another home run in the eighth. They extended their lead in the top of the ninth with an RBI single and RBI double that made it a 12-7 game.
