Hopfe and Beal snag MW Weekly Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Tommy Hopfe has been named Mountain West Player of the Week and Noah Beal has been tabbed MW Pitcher of the Week after their performance in the Bulldogs' sweep over Nevada, the conference announced on Monday.

TOMMY HOPFE – MW PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tommy Hopfe dominated the Bulldog offense this week, with a .643 average.

In Fresno State's sweep over Nevada, Hopfe had 7 hits in 9 at-bats, a .778 average in three starts at first base.

He also had a 1.111 slugging percentage against Nevada and a .867 on-base percentage over the weekend.

Hopfe also hit a home run, scored 5 runs and drove in 4 RBIs.

At first base, he recorded 20 putouts and an assist for a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Hopfe also took the mound against the Wolf Pack, earning his sixth save of the season and striking out two batters.

NOAH BEAL – MW PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Noah Beal pitched lights out for the Bulldogs this weekend, earning his third win of the season against the Wolf Pack.

In a career-long 8.0 innings pitched, Beal struck out 10 batters.

He only allowed one walk, and no earned runs through 115 pitches.
