'Dogs close West Coast Relays with a dozen wins on Saturday

CLOVIS, Calif. – Following a pair of wins on Friday, the Fresno State track and field teams tacked on 12 more wins on a Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium to finish the West Coast Relays with 14 in total. The women finished with nine while the men had five.

To go with Saturday's 12 wins, the Bulldogs added five marks to the program's all-time Top 10 lists.

Fresno State started the day by going 2-9 in the women's javelin. Harriette Morlock was the top collegian in the event with a toss of 49.88m/163-7.

The dominance in the field continued into the jumps pit where the 'Dogs took the top six spots in the long jump. The group was led by Rachela Pace, who on her second attempt recorded the No. 2 jump in program history at 6.30m/20-8.

When Fresno State took to the track, the women's 4x100 relay team of Antoinette Stubbfield, Ceonna Pipion, Iyanna Ross and Chloe Sharp, though narrowly coming in second, dropped the second-best time in program history (45.33). The men's team of Joziah Hagedorn, Enoch Okoh, Bronson Ortlieb and De'Antae Choates picked up the win in their relay (41.03).

Inside the track, freshman Liz Tarczy won the high jump with a clearance of 1.65m/5-5. The 'Dogs went 1-3-4-5 in the event, with Kaitlynn Perez placing third, also clearing a height of 1.65m/5-5.

The throwing cage saw the Bulldogs finish in the top five spots. Cierra Jackson earned the top spot, launching a second-attempt toss of 59.37m/194-9. Jordyn Bryant took second with a mark of 56.55m/185-6 which ranks No. 4 in program history.

In the hurdles, heptathlete Madison Hutton jumped to No. 7 all-time at Fresno State in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing second with a time of 13.93. In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Kyle Hughes took first at 14.74.

In the women's 400 meters, Pipion led the Bulldogs to a 1-3-4 finish. The senior dropped a blistering 52.89, No. 2 all-time at Fresno State, before the rain began to fall.

Beginning with the men's 100 meters, the Bulldogs won three straight events. Okoh and Choates went 1-3 with times of 10.72 and 10.92, respectively. Victoria Nino (2:16.56) and Khushleen Khakh (2:18.00) then went 1-2 in the women's 800 meters. Mohamed Saleh won the race on the men's side with a time of 1:54.32 while Elijah Williams finished third at 1:56.30.

Pipion grabbed the women's last win on the track in the 200 meters with a time of 23.90.

The men's 4x400 relay team of Dane Koesterer, Corey Ford, Hagedorn and Williams earned their final win of the day on the track (3:26.65).

The Bulldog women's dominance in the throws continued into the final event as the shot putters went 1-4. Jackson claimed her second event win of the day with a mark of 15.96m/52-4.5
