Harris selected to MW 25th Season Men's Basketball Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West is celebrating its 25th Season of excellence on and off the field of play. During each Mountain West Championship in 2023-24, the Conference will recognize a 25th Season Team.

Among its 25 athletes for men's basketball is former Bulldog Marvelle Harris.

The 2016 Mountain West Player of the Year, Harris was a two-time All-MW selection and MW All-Defensive Team member. He finished his four-year career as Fresno State's all-time leading scorer with 2,031 points, a total at the time ranked No. 4 in conference history. He also concluded his career as Fresno State's all-time leader in free throws made (506), free throws attempted (678) and field goals attempted (1,595) and ranked second in program history in field goals made (667) and steals (207).

Harris turned in a historical season in 2015-16, leading Fresno State back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001 as the 'Dogs won the MW tournament, defeating San Diego State 68-63 in the championship game. That year he set single-season records for points scored (725), free throws made (179) and field goal attempts (589). He was just the third player in school history, joining Courtney Alexander and Melvin Ely, to earn preseason and postseason conference player of the year honors in the same season.
